The risk of systemic effects from steroids is greater with nasal drops, than with nasal sprays. Nasal drops should therefore only be used where polyps are known or suspected.

Children receiving prolonged treatment with nasal corticosteroids should have their height monitored. Refer to a specialist if growth is slowed.
